chinese feast and more
This week, I worked on a few stories for the Beachcomber, including the M2 story about which I got details that showed up nowhere else...now I just hope Jay prints it. He seemed pretty cool about it.
Before I got that story on Tues or Wednesday, I visited this sort of scattered elderly woman on Ransom St., just over the apts. near Ximeno who had several hundred LPs from her nephew who died suddenly awhile back. From the contents, lot of girl singers, I'm thinking...AIDs?
Good stuff within, Hayley Mills, Annette, Donna Loren (on whom I was weak), Monkee's Head and stuff of that nature. About 20 items, 2 45s, the rest LPs, for $8. Does that make me vulnerable for AIDs? A joke, okay, a joke.
The mini-mansion story is getting some good response, mainly calls, tho Liz would like more letters.
There was a very tragic event this past week when a man shot at his wife & killed his four year old son right behind Steve & Barb's house...on Thursday, as they were out shopping for a new cello for Daniel who'd broken his old one.
Just learned that Fri. nite, Barb & Steve went to SteakORama on the shore which had posted my story that includes them on their wall.
What a weekend. I was a little concerned as rain had been predicted for Sat., the day of the big feast in the City Of Industry. Not to be concerned, our drive over the mtns on Colima Rd. was pict-perfect, only when we got to Industry did the traffic get INSANE!!! - blocked from Colima to the freeway...just too many cars!!!
Got to the crowded shopping center on the foot of the 60 & parked. What a feast, good and interesting folks in Bill's inner circle, a grown Eddie, effusive Corrina, friendly Vicky & her infant...and the Shanghai cooking was superb, entre after entree - pork, fish, mushrooms - served on a giant lazy susan and we ate!!!
Great day. Rained on Sunday, as I was at the OC Record Show, where I bought about 30 45s....all in all, a good weekend.
And Sunday p.m., Sylv got a call from Barb, would you like to go to a play and off they went and I went to the gym. Back to writing now.

Sounds like a fun chinese food party. I'm glad to hear you're working out! I love doing yoga, myself. Check out my new blog at heather.thebuchs.net
