stuff I did

This past week, sleepy and grumpy.

I wrote an article on this guy who got in a beef with the cops over dog walking, now Jay is telling Liz that if he shows up, call 9-1-1. Guess that's reaction.

Went to cable commission Wednesday, which was a pretty good meeting, considering that they're usually pretty oppressive. The oppressor prexy quit. Stopped by Bagatelle, found very rare Slim Green on Dig, major need for $12, expensive, but worth it. Far from mint, but so am I.

Then to Beachcomber for mail, onward to Wagman's with my i-River as possible solution to harddrive problem for radio station. Seems to be working out. He's one strange duck.

That night, went to police function at the water dept. and Thursday, saw Don Waldie at LBCC.

Today, had my Jacobs-taxes done, rainy back, but okay, big deal. Guy with the dog was okay last week, but this Monday, he wanted the article I'd already written & submitted, pulled. Can't do that, Jay refused, so it ran...and maybe we'll have to if he gets threatening. What a way to start a rainy weekend.

getting out

Things are pretty cool, actually cold - weatherwise at least - at the old homestead, that I've really not gone out lately. Last week, I stopped by the Beachcomber and saw two idiot drivers on that trip, which I documented in the scanner. What would happen had I been out all day?

Wagman called, wants me to do an oldies station on his site, which I agreed to do. It involves dowloading music from my CDs. On Thurs, he picked me up at Russells and we came back here and installed I-Tunes, the the c drive is too small, so will have to wait. But he is feeding me logo ideas, so it will be a go. I'll be getting a new C drive, which I should have done some time ago.

Shea started me on an exercise regimen, 15 to 20 mins a day, and I think it'll be pretty good. We shop about every other week at S&F.

Yesterday, I attened the Heritage Museum meeting with some great old films on L.B. history, pier collapse, earthquake and Pike. Morgan H. was there and there was plenty of talk about fundraising.

dull duller and dullest

During the final few weeks of Feb., very little has happened, tho one marvelous piece of news arrived: Sylvia will be set for hip surgery in about 3 mos. - May, we hope, or may we hope?

Two weekends ago, I went to the O.C. Record show, not much there, but still it's fun. It was a rainy day the Sat. before, so the crowd was down. The competition is getting tougher and tougher for those few 45s that pop up.

Last week, met the Wilson Hi guys for our monthly lunch and Bill Soon brought along a printer he sold me for $20, but got it home and it didn't work. Next day, he show up, and pronounced it dead. Gave me back my twenty but got that much in wine back. He recommended a laser printer, Sylvia found a reconditioned one online for $99, so we ordered that.

This past weekend, my Beachcomber advert paid off again, went down to the Belmont Shore Trailer Pk. and picked up a few things, including the Gales on Mel-o, one I didn't have - they only did two. Then went to Dizzy's, found some more sides. Came home, haven't gone out since.

Yesterday, my new used laser printer arrived. After print-out, I found out that I've written (plus discographies), about 150 pages of my new book. Exciting to have pages in hand to correct and edit, which I've been doing all morning.
