Maybe the weekend's slow start was best typified by the WPMD signal going down and me having to find out myself from Craig who seemed perfectly willing to let me come in and find out the hard way - you drove in, no signal, too bad (it's happened before) and later and negotiate with Mike that all of this made sense. So much to stop me from going in - no stream, cranky campus cops, just general bullshit. So I didn't go in, and got Mike & Robbie to understand, that there was no point.
Settled in on Sunday, ready to watch the Super Bowl, got into hassle between her and Shea, went to Robbie's party for first half...ate a dog, a part of a sub, and a beer or so. Okay time, Cheril was there, very giddy, taking videos of the affair...I mean event.
Left at end of half, got back home in time to see Stones song & a half, pretty crummy game, though.
Monday, looked at records owned by senile Asian lady in a devastated home nearby. Didn't buy, her daughter and son-in-law got involved, and the records weren't worth the hassle, tho there were some interesting items. Hmmm.
The temp has sure changed at everyone's fave jazz radio station. Now, I'm getting almost more info than one article can use...went from being shut out, to being their free PR outlet. It's very unexpected, that's for sure. But make the most out of it. Even got a fest. comp. thing going. And Dan - we knew you when - Baker, who quit the council just after he conducted the interview he wouldn't do with the PT and hardly did with the online outlet. Had I known...well, I did ask some close questions, not just about the "scandal."
After I watched Baker quit on 5 p.m. Tuesday, it was over to the Cropps to welcome Brian's daughters, grandkids & dinner - chicken soup, wowie zowie! - good time and conversation, tho apparently there was underlying tension.
Weds A.M., Brian and Allison were here, so it was tiptoe, then deal with their personalities when I should be working...so I went to look at a pile of jazz 78s instead, just given to me. That part started sort of non-promising, but some of the be bop was pretty decent, if not okay.
Later in the day, Lanie called, Sylvia wasn't here. She didn't blow me off as is usual. We discussed her mom, her land and her email from long-alienated sister Louise..."I'm ready to consider your offer (which Lanie forgot) . I'm tapped." Does that mean a Herb-dump? Lanie wonders. Hell, we all wonders.
Today, Sylvia goes to movies with Barb.
